ERVA held a webinar on February 5, 2026, to discuss the findings from the recently released report, Transforming Women’s Health Outcomes through EngineeringThis event featured speakers Michelle Oyen, associate professor of biomedical engineering at Wayne State University, and Dorota Grejner-Brzezinska, ERVA PI and vice chancellor for research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Overview:

Women experience a wide range of health challenges across the lifespan, many of which remain difficult to study, diagnose, and treat using traditional biomedical research approaches. Long disease timelines, complex hormonal dynamics, ethical constraints, and limited data have contributed to persistent gaps in understanding and outcomes. These challenges have limited progress in key areas of women’s health research and constrained the development of new prevention, diagnostic, and treatment strategies.
