01•30•2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The start of 2023 has seen dramatic climate events in California, leading to tremendous rainfall, floods, and damage to local communities. Regrettably, this significant rainfall, representing billions of gallons of fresh water, has not been effectively captured to mitigate the state's chronic water shortages. This town hall will discuss novel and high-impact engineering solutions to capitalize on future rainfalls.
Agenda Highlights
The town hall will focus primarily on:
- Consideration and problems arising from stormwater being both a potential resource and a pollutant source;
- Making stormwater a part of the supply source "mix" by public agencies, and factors to consider;
- Introducing a digital platform for equitable and just flood infrastructure adaptation.
