Communications and Marketing Manager, College of Engineering, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

About JS Engebretson

Jane-Stewart (J.S.) Engebretson currently serves as communications and marketing manager for the College of Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a strategic and forward-thinking communicator with more than 20 years of experience working in higher education, overseeing brand and image development, marketing, public and media relations, recruitment communications, content development, and a whole lot more.

Prior to her seemingly lifelong stint in college communications and marketing, Engebretson served as editor of a small-town weekly newspaper and then reporter/columnist for a larger daily newspaper in Iowa. As director of higher education services at Service Research Corporation, she created and coordinated market research services for higher education, especially focusing on student retention.

Engebretson earned a B.A. in Mass Communication/Journalism from Buena Vista University (with a minor in Chinese language) and a M.A. in Journalism/Advertising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; her research focused on the intersection of communication competence and business success.
