Lauren Garrison is the Manager of Material Irradiation Effects at Commonwealth Fusion Systems. Her expertise includes neutron irradiation, refractory materials for plasma-facing components, plasma-material interactions, and composite development. She previously spent nine years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she was a Weinberg Fellow and group leader of the Advanced Nuclear Materials Group. Garrison holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree and PhD in nuclear engineering and engineering physics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is chair of the Fusion Energy Division of the American Nuclear Society.
