Linkan Bian is Head and Donald & Cathey Humphreys Chair of the School of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) at Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining OSU, he served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation, where he led the Advanced Manufacturing, Design, and Operations (AMDO) program and managed a large national research portfolio. Bian was previously the Thomas B. & Terri L. Nusz Endowed Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Mississippi State University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and has held multiple leadership roles within the manufacturing professional community. Bian earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Peking University in Beijing and a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering at Georgia Tech.
