Marvi Matos Rodriguez is senior vice president of technology at Zap Energy, where she leads advanced technology development and systems engineering efforts to accelerate the company’s path to commercial fusion energy. She brings extensive leadership experience in complex systems engineering, research and development, and digital transformation, most recently directing a 600-plus-person organization at Boeing, overseeing systems engineering, integration, test, and enterprise-wide design practices. She previously served as director of the crew capsule engineering team at Blue Origin, where she led verification efforts supporting the first human flight of the New Shepard rocket. An award-winning scientist with nine U.S. patents, she has also taught chemical engineering at the University of Washington and led Gates Foundation-funded bioengineering research. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, a master’s degree in colloids, polymers, and surfaces, a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and an Executive MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
