ERVA seeks your ideas so we can leverage expertise from the U.S. engineering community to identify strategies to address societal challenges and advance R&D. When you share an idea with ERVA about fundamental, pre-competitive research to solve a societal need, it could become eligible for a fully-funded ERVA visioning event—in which you could play a leading role!
ERVA visioning events gather engineers and other subject matter experts from allied disciplines who together formulate long-reaching strategic focus areas for our nation to address society’s biggest challenges. These cross-sector, multi-disciplinary events produce strategy reports with research needs that can lead to action on a national scale. The result could impact your topic for years or decades to come. And as the theme originator, you could be considered for authorship of a funded white paper, too.
What makes a topic right for a visioning event?
- Ripe for engineering research intervention;
- Emerging, nascent, and currently under-resourced with respect to engineering;
- Capable of major societal impact (if resourced); and
- Broad enough to engage the multidisciplinary engineering research community
