About Afrouz Anderson

Afrouz Anderson is a program director at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). She earned her doctorate in biomedical engineering from the University of California, Davis and National Institutes of Health and completed her postdoc at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Anderson has gained experience in many aspects of biomedical and imaging research during work for industry and within the non-profit and health care sectors focusing on translational biophotonics and utilization of multi‐modality imaging in clinical populations. In her current role at NIBIB, she oversees research activities in the field of biophotonics, develops inter-agency initiatives related to biomedical imaging, and manages the optical imaging and spectroscopy portfolio.
