Tara Butler

About Tara Butler

Tara Butler is an experienced development stage medical technology investor who led medical device investing at Ascension Ventures for over 20 years. She currently sits on the board of Instylla, Rejoni, Neurolutions, Sora Neuroscience, and CSA Medical. 

Butler was previously a board member or observer at companies such as Apama Medical (acquired by Boston Scientific), Augmenix (acquired by Boston Scientific), Novasys (acquired by Verathon Medical), CHF Solutions (acquired by Gambro), Confluent Surgical (acquired by Tyco). Prior to Ascension Ventures, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Barnes Jewish Hospital at the Washington University in St. Louis. Butler previously held positions in business development at Medtronic and finance at Honeywell.  

Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master’s degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
