About Kara Spiller

Kara Spiller is a professor at Drexel University's School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems. Her research interests include the role of immune cells in tissue repair and regeneration, the design of immunomodulatory biomaterials, and international engineering education.

Spiller’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and private foundations. Her awards include a Fulbright Fellowship, the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program Award, and the U.S. Department of State APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research, and Education.
