Ngwe Thawdar currently serves as the program manager and technical lead of the terahertz communications portfolio at the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate. Her research interests include wireless-spread spectrum communications, cooperative communications, software-defined radio implementation, and communications and networking in emerging spectral bands, such as mm-waves and terahertz band frequencies. Thawdar earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton and her master’s degree and doctorate in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a recipient of the 2019 Air Force Research Academy (AFRA) Science and Engineering Early Career Award, the 2021 AFRL Information Directorate Scientist/Engineer of the Year Award, and the 2022 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers International Conference on Communications Best Paper Award.
